The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development has condemned the looting and vandalism of the National Cereals and Produce Board depot in Maua, Meru County. Over 7,000 bags of fertiliser were stolen in the Wednesday incident, which officials say poses a serious threat to food security. Preliminary reports show that the fertiliser, valued at over 29.5 million shillings, was to be distributed to farmers during the current planting season.
