Tension is high in Bendera area within Kapenguria, West Pokot, after the body of a 7-year-old boy who went missing three weeks ago, was found dumped in a maize plantation badly decomposed.
The shocking murder comes amid a series of child disappearances in the area, with residents fearing a deeper and more sinister plot involving trafficking of human body parts, which they now fear for their children's safety. According to Dianah Cherop, her son Brighton Perur disappeared while in the company of two children whom she termed as the suspects after they denied seeing her son.
