About 600 youths in Malindi, Kilifi County, are set to benefit from a new government-backed initiative aimed at reducing unemployment and curbing rising insecurity in the area.
The program, spearheaded by Malindi Member of Parliament Amina Mnyazi, targets vulnerable youth, many of whom dropped out of primary or secondary school and aims to offer them technical training opportunities. Parents and community leaders have welcomed the move, describing it as a critical step in addressing both unemployment and crime in the region. The first group of trainees is expected to report to local technical institutions in the coming weeks as preparations for the rollout continue.
