A section of teen mothers from Githunguri, Kiambu County have benefited from a nutrition training programme, aimed at equipping them with skills for healthier living.
The programme, organised by the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), emphasised among others the importance of consuming indigenous vegetables and a balanced diet. Speaking during the event, Professor Mary Abukutsa, a horticulture expert at JKUAT, said the training was initiated after realising that most teen mothers consume unhealthy foods, which contribute to lifestyle diseases
