The government has ordered fresh vetting of all foreigners from Burundi, Rwanda, DR Congo, and Uganda’s Wagisu community living in West Pokot. The directive follows chilling revelations of a suspected cannibalism and organ harvesting ring. West Pokot County Commissioner Khalif Abdulahi said the exercise aims to determine who they are, why they are in the region, where they operate, and how they got there. Thirteen Ugandan nationals linked to the crimes were arrested and moved to Kitale Police Station to prevent mob attacks. Khalif said the suspects confessed to killings and human feasting dating back to December 2024. A planned raid on Kapenguria Police Station was foiled, and politicians inciting chaos were warned. Forensic experts have collected crucial evidence, now under analysis at the Government Chemist.
