DROUGHT AGENCY FOCUSING ON IMPROVING WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IN ASAL COUNTIES

The National Drought Management Authority[NDMA] is putting a lot of emphasis on water infrastructure in the Arid and semi-arid counties, the agency’s CEO, Hared Adan, has said. The strategies he said are meant to enhance water availability in the counties that are typically dry, with scarce and unreliable rainfall. According to the CEO, water remained the single biggest challenge facing the counties, noting that once it is sorted out, then most of the problems that residents from the 23 counties face will have been solved.
