As businesses across the country count losses and struggle to recover from recent protests, Nice Supermarket in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, has reopened its doors, just seven days after it was broken into and looted in broad daylight. The supermarket was among hundreds of businesses that bore the brunt of nationwide demonstrations held in the spirit of Saba Saba. And as Kamau Mwangi now reports, the proprietor, Njiru Mkombozi, says rebuilding will be a slow and painful process, with losses estimated at over 50 million shillings.
