Tanzania police arrest Amani Golugwa as crackdown on election protests widens

One more person has been arrested as police in Tanzania intensify the crackdown on participants of the elections protests that hit the country last week. In a statement, opposition party CHADEMA confirmed the arrest of its secretary general Amani Golugwa days after top party leaders were taken into custody. This comes even as 22 people were arraigned on Friday facing charges of treason, as more families come out seeking the whereabouts of their loved ones
