A woman has been elected for the first time as the Speaker of the Kilifi County Assembly. Catherine Kenga garnered 48 out of the 51 votes cast, defeating four competitors. Kenga said she is equal to the task owing to the experience she acquired while serving in different positions including as acting Kilifi County Secretary.
