SUGARCANE FARMERS EMBRACE NEW KASAP BRANCH AT SONYSUGAR
Sugarcane farmers in Migori have welcomed the launch of the Kenya Association of Sugarcane and Allied Products (KASAP) branch at SonySugar Company Limited—an initiative aimed at revitalising efforts to champion farmers’ welfare.
Speaking during the event held at the SonySugar Green Stadium, the KASAP National Chairperson Charles Atyang emphasised that the organisation will be farmer-centred, addressing a gap left by previous associations operating within SonySugar.

Atyang noted that beyond advocating for timely farmer payments, KASAP will push for sugarcane pricing to factor in the value of by-products such as molasses, to narrow the gap between production costs and farmers’ earnings.
