'I was not protesting, but was shot and left paralysed' - BBC Africa

On 8 August 2024, protests erupted in various parts of Kenya. That was the day that Brian’ Mwangi's life changed. He was a casual labourer and a bystander, when demonstrations broke down in the area where he was. He was not taking part in the protest, but there was a shot fired. He was hit by a bullet that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Ten months later, Brian and his familiy are still fighting for justice while struggling to access medical care and rebuild his life.
