Once celebrated as one of the cleanest cities in the region and home to the UNESCO-listed Lake Nakuru, the city of Nakuru is now grappling with the challenges of urbanization. Since attaining city status, a swelling population has brought with it mounting waste, pollution, and environmental degradation. In response, the Nakuru County Government, in collaboration with private stakeholders, is implementing new strategies to manage waste, protect the environment, and create employment opportunities.
