France's admits violence in Cameroon: 'This wrong deserves reparation' - BBC Africa
French President Emmanuel Macron has acknowledged the violence committed by his country's forces in Cameroon during and after the nation's independence struggle.
It followed a joint report by Cameroonian and French historians which highlighted that tens of thousands of people were killed between 1956 and 1961.
But Macron fell short of offering a clear apology for the atrocities committed.
BBC Africa has spoken to some Cameroonians who say they still want an apology and reparations.
