Joe Aribo: How cage football unlocked Nigerian midfielder's potential - BBC Africa
Joe Aribo’s talent has taken him all the way to the Premier League and the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
But the Nigerian and Southampton midfielder honed his skills in the rough-and-tumble environment of cage football.
As that formative arena was within walking distance of his childhood home in south London, Aribo has fond memories of life in the cage.
He took BBC Sport Africa on a trip down memory lane to explain how it helped unlock his potential and why he wants to protect it.
