In the ongoing anti-fraud campaign in the health sector, the Ministry of Health states that it has intercepted 10.6 billion shillings' worth of fraudulent claims by health facilities to the Social Health Authority (SHA) and stopped the payments. Subsequently, 45 health facilities behind the fraudulent claims have been ordered closed for non-compliance. This comes amid growing public outrage and online campaigns over allegations that funds under the Social Health Insurance Fund and Primary Healthcare Fund have been diverted to ghost facilities.
