Panic and fear gripped a women's empowerment forum in Siaya County after an unknown man hurled a tear gas canister at the venue. The Wezesha Mama Inua Jamii event at Wagai Primary School grounds was attended by several women Members of Parliament. Speeches came to a sudden halt as the canister exploded a few metres from the dais, releasing toxic fumes and sending the crowd scampering for safety.
