Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization has hailed women for seeking elective posts and emerging victorious in the general election. The organization's chair Rahab Muiu, says the shift from three governors to eight in addition to other positions secured by women politicians is a significant step towards increasing women’s participation in the bi-cameral parliament. Rahab at the same time lauded security organs for the adequate protection provided to candidates and electorate during the electioneering period.
