Authorities have launched investigations into 40 digital credit providers, which have been flagged for potential data abuse by consumers of their services. As of 30th September, the office of the data protection commission had received over 1,000 complaints and is now probing 299 of those cases. Some of the digital lenders in question include I-pesa, credit Moja, Metaloan, A-pesa and branch.
