Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire and other officials in her executive have been surcharged after illegally withdrawing 10 Million Shillings from the County Aggregation and Industrial Parks. The money is said to have been used to host boda boda operators in a political gathering. Appearing before the County Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire was at pains to explain the withdrawal, which the Auditor General had flagged as an illegality, placing the county in a precarious position.
