A family in Magarini Sub County of Kilifi County has appealed to the Kenyan and Italian to investigate circumstances that led to the death of their kin whose body was brought home with some vital internal organs missing. Amani Justine, who was married to an Italian national, died on September 29, 2022, but when her body was flown to Kenya in October, it was discovered that it was missing the both eyeballs, the heart, the kidneys and the liver among other vital organs. Amani’s mother Josephine Nzingo Mrima and Matthew Shipeta of the human rights organization Haki Africa called for intervention from both authorities so that they can have closure.
