The youth have been called upon to promote dialogue and peaceful coexistence in the wake of heightened political activity in the country ahead of the 2027 General elections. While marking the 169th birthday of the World Scouts Founder, Lord Barden Powell, which brought together over 10,000 Scouts from across the country for fellowship, training, and cultural exchange in Nyeri county, Kenya Scout Association Chief Scout, Ambassador Jacob Kaimenyi urged youth to shun electoral violence and being used by politicians for ill motives. Participants also challenged the government to provide opportunities for the youth . The world founders day celebration is more significant in Kenya because this is where the World Scout Founder spent his final days and had his body interred upon his death.
