Government set to stop fees subsidy from 2023, national and extra county schools to be affected

    Parents with children in national and extra county schools will, beginning in January next year pay 53,554 shillings up from the current 45,000. Following a decision by the ministry of education to abolish the subsidy on school fees put in place in July last year due to a collapsed school calendar that saw learning weeks reduced from 39 to 30. Equally, parents with children in boarding county and sub-county schools will pay 40, 535 shillings up from the current 35,000 shillings.
