The Kiambu County assembly has rejected half of Governor Kimani Wamatangi’s cabinet nominees raising questions on their suitability to hold the positions. The assembly sending the governor back to the drawing board as he is now expected to nominate five new CECs to be vetted by the public appointment committee before the assembly once again examines how suited they are to the roles assigned. As Chemutai Goin reports two weeks ago, the assembly voted against an approval motion pushing for a joint approval of the cabinet nominees saying they will not rubber-stamp the executive’s wishes.
