Kenya, Uganda railway line upgrade to cost Ksh.15 billion

    Kenya has reached an agreement with neighbouring Uganda to do an upgrade of their Meter Gauge Railway (MGR) from the Malaba border all the way to Kampala at a cost of Ksh.5 billion in a bid to offer seamless connectivity between the two countries. This, according to the Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia who confirmed in an interview with Metropol TV that the deal was arrived after the government decided to upgrade the old railway from Mai-Mahiu all the way to Malaba at a cost of Ksh.10 billion.
