Approximately 300 million tons of plastic wastes are produced and disposed annually. However, only 9 per cent are recycled with the vast majority ending in landfills. But young entrepreneurs in Nairobi have found innovative ways of turning the trash to cash. Their work caught the attention of royals from Sweden and Norway who visited the country to see how the young entrepreneurs are attempting to deal with plastic waste that has become a major threat to the environment.
