The Competition Authority of Kenya, CAK, has approved the acquisition of certain assets of Match Masters Limited by Pwani Oil Products Limited unconditionally. In a statement, CAK noted that the transaction will include assets such as plant and machinery, relating to the repackaging and distribution of the washing powder business, by Pwani Oil. The watchdog further confirms there will be no loss of employment following the transaction. In another transaction, CAK approved the proposed acquisition of certain assets of Rhea Holdings Limited by Shalimar Flowers Kenya Limited unconditionally. Both transactions met the threshold for a full merger analysis, as the combined assets for the preceding year was over one billion shillings.
