Over 5,000 claimants from the Lolldaiga community are set to receive over ksh100 billion in compensation from the British government, if their claims are accepted over a fire sparked during military training exercises, by the British army training unit in Kenya. The march 2021 fire destroyed more than 10,000 acres of vegetation, at the Lolldaiga conservancy in Laikipia county and caused adverse health effects to the locals in the area.
