Number 16: The year 2008, BTL officially hosted the first annual Run for the Bibleless event at NPC Valley Road in Nairobi. The crowd, though enthusiastic, was small, and the Master of Ceremonies could easily call out attendants by name. At that time, BTL had not completed even one full Bible, only the New Testaments.

16 years later, God has brought on board faithful partners from here in Kenya and around the globe as a great gift to our ministry. Through His help and provision, we now have 5 full Bibles completed, with the 6th one currently being printed. We also have completed 8 New Testaments and have 14 others at various stages of the translation process. God has also expanded our territories across our borders, and we have begun work with the Gitemi translation project in Tanzania.

The Run, which was sparsely attended 16 years ago, has now grown and is expanding to the African Continent; Wycliffe South Africa, BTL’s sister organization in South Africa, will be hosting their first major Run for the Bibleless event on 11th March 2023.

We, therefore, invite you to the 16th edition of the annual fundraising event, "Run for the Bibleless 2023," on 4th March, in Nairobi at the Carnivore Grounds in Langata, in Nakuru at the Nakuru High School, and in Eldoret at the Potter’s House Academy. This date also marks BTL’s 42nd anniversary since its establishment in 1981. Please note this special date in your calendars. The RUN t-shirts are currently available at the BTL Centre in Upper Hill, and you can call us on 0722 209606 to place an order or in case of an inquiry.

For our partners in Mombasa, the Mombasa edition of the Run for the Bibleless is scheduled for the 8th of July 2023.

Join us as we extend God’s love to the small language groups in Kenya and across our borders in their languages!
