Six teachers from Itumbe D.O.K accused of filming minors in an indecent act were on Monday evening freed on bond after they pleaded not guilty to six counts of charges levelled against them. Appearing before Ogembo Principal Magistrate Calistus Sindani, the teachers were accused of subjecting minors to cruel, inhuman, degrading treatment and punishment contrary to section 25(3) of Children's Act as read with section 7(a) and (b) of the Prevention of Torture Act NO 12 of 2017. The Six Everline Moraa, William Isoka, Drusilla Moraa, Angelica Massiah, Catherine Mokeira and Gladys Kwamboka were released on bond with a surety of similar amount. The case will be mentioned on 20th February with pretrial hearing set to be on 14th April 2023. TSC had last week interdicted 5 teachers over gross misconduct against Code of ethics.
