https://nation.africa/ A section of Jubilee Party leaders in Mt Kenya East has distanced itself from the ongoing rallies by the Azimio la Umoja Coalition.
Speaking during a meeting in Chogoria town in Tharaka Nithi County, the leaders from Tharaka Nithi, Meru and Embu counties who contested for various positions in the last elections but lost said they recognise President William Ruto’s election and are ready to work with him.
Led by Mr Lawrence Gitonga Bongo who unsuccessfully contested for Maara Member of Parliament position in Tharaka Nithi County, the leaders told Mr Odinga to stay away from Mt Kenya East and only come there on peaceful missions.
They said Mr Odinga lost the polls and the Supreme Court confirmed so and that he should respect the decision of the majority of Kenyans and wait for 2027 elections if he will still be interested.
They said they are surprised to see Jubilee Party take part in sponsoring rallies while it failed even to finance them during campaigns.
