It was a happy reunion for the family and friends of John Henry Mwangi, following his release from prison after 4 years and 23 days in jail. 48-year-old Mwangi was released after the court of appeal quashed his conviction after establishing that he was wrongfully charged and convicted of conspiracy to defraud and forgery. This was after the director of public prosecutions stated that the documents used to charge Mwangi and his sister Caroline Wambui Macharia were doctored with glaring inconsistencies.
