A new survey by Trends and Insights for Africa (TIFA) has revealed that most Kenyans believe state security agencies bear the greatest responsibility for extrajudicial killings and abductions in the country. According to the findings released on Thursday, September 11, 2025, 35 per cent of respondents pointed to the police and other security organs as the primary perpetrators of these violations. The views were nearly identical across political divides, with 36 per cent of Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BBG) supporters and 37 per cent of critics holding security agencies accountable.
