Maraga warns Govt against misusing anti-terror law

Retired Chief Justice David Maraga has criticized the government for misusing the Prevention of terrorism act to target young activists demanding good governance. Maraga, who joined human rights activists in court during the hearing of suspects arrested on the June 25th anniversary, urged the Director of Public Prosecutions to withdraw what he described as baseless charges. Lsk President Faith Odhiambo wants the ODPP to instead go after police officers accused of using excessive force on protesters, instead of preferring trumped-up charges against the youth.
