Prices for subsidized fertilizer have now been reduced from 3500 shillings to 2500 shillings, President William Ruto has announced. During a briefing at statehouse Nairobi to outline interventions his administration had made to incentivize the farmer, the president urged farmers to take advantage of the upcoming short rains and plant crops that will aid in enhancing food security, which go a long way in reducing the cost of living. The president revealed that the government distributed over 3.5 million bags of crop-specific fertilizer to farmers in 41 counties during the long rain period.
