The huge maize loss suffered by a section of farmers contracted by Bayer in Baringo county may be partly attributed to the farmers not taking advantage of the identified planting window. The affected farmers from AIC Marigat are demanding compensation after suffering losses from their projected crop spanning over 200 acres. In an email response Bayer Communication business partner Liza Bolham says initial investigation on site, shows the foundation seed provided to the growers is not the reason behind the poor seed production rate.
