Catholic bishops in Kenya have raised concerns over the introduction of sex education in basic education learning materials. According to the leaders, the content taught in schools, particularly in grade 7 is not acceptable as it exposes minors to the use of contraceptives leading to high rates of teenage pregnancies and abortion. The leaders now want the Ministry of Education to recall the inclusion of the reproductive health strand in all grade 7 books with immediate effect.
