Addressing the press after a closed door meeting with the top county security officers in busia town, Wan'gombe issued a stern warning to the perpetrators who include close relatives of victims and warned them of dire consequences as she encouraged victims to come out and report every GBV case.
Wangombe has challenged the county government of Busia to be proactive in ensuring that gender based violence policies at the county and subcounty levels are fully implemented as a measure towards curbing these vice.
Some of the factors fueling GBV cases in Busia include family land feuds, poverty, and inheritance among others.
