Africa Volleyball Champions Malkia strikers stole the show in Younde Cameroon on Thursday night after thrashing Egypt 3-0 to win the Africa women volleyball title. The team also dominated the player awards with three individual awards. Captain Mercy Moim was voted the best receiver in the tournament as Emmaculate Nekesa walked away with the best setter award. Sharon Chepchumba was voted MVP for the second match in a row, and was also voted the tournament MVP. Malkia strikers started their journey in July where they camped in Morocco for one month before heading to Paris for the challenger tournament where they were knocked out in the first round. They then headed to Cameroon for the Africa championship where they won all their matches and lost only one set.
