Speaker Wetangula raises alarm over absentee lawmakers

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula has raised an alarm over delays in debating and passage of crucial legislative bills owing to lack of quorum in the august house. Speaking in Mombasa during the national assembly's leadership retreat, Wetangula said the house has been experiencing quorum hitch from time to time, forcing the house leadership to whips MPs who often spend most their time at the lobby for the business to start.
