Today, Sunday June 19, 2022 was celebrated the world over as Father’s Day. In Catholic countries of Europe, fatherhood has been celebrated on March 19 as Saint Joseph's Day since the Middle Ages. In the United States, Father's Day was founded by Sonora Smart Dodd and celebrated on the third Sunday of June for the first time in 1910. In Kenya, festivities if any were low key and the day almost went unnoticed despite the role played by fathers in supporting their families. Serfine Achieng’ spoke to a section of Kenyans about the day’s significance.
