The Moi Stadium in Kisumu will be built afresh to conform to the CAF and FIFA standards in a project to be executed by the national government and the county government of Kisumu. Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyong'o says the stadium will have a completely different look in July 2024. Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba toured the facility together with the Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu which will host the 2023 edition of the CECAFA under 18 championships. CS Ababu also toured the Marsabit Stadium accompanied by the Marsabit County Governor Mahmoud Ali and the sports fund CEO Nuh Ibrahim. CS Namwamba emphasized that Marsabit's status as a regional stadium gives it top priority in the projects to be completed.
