Parliament approves deployment of 1000 officers to Haiti

Parliament has approved the deployment of 1000 police officers to Haiti in a bid to curb insecurity by fighting gangs to restore peace. In a morning vote on Thursday, the lawmakers adopted the joint committees' report that had recommended that the House approve the deployment. This will however have to wait for the hearing and determination of a court case filed by thirdway alliance. There is currently a court order in place that temporarily stops the deployment until the case before Justice Chacha Mwita is concluded
