With only 30 days to the National Examinations, preparations are in top gear ahead of the Grade nine transition to secondary school. Education ministry says it is working out modalities to ensure that it spreads the 1.2 million learners in grade nine to all the 9,500 secondary schools in the country. The learners' placement will be based on their career pathways and their performance in the assessment next month. The transition could, however, run into challenges should the government fail to clear the three billion shillings debt owed to publishers, to allow them to print a catalogue of grade ten textbooks.
