Patients holding the Social Health Authority SHA medical cover will now be required to pay for access to health services in Private hospitals. This follows a resolution by the Rural & Urban Private Hospitals Association of Kenya (RUPHA) suspending Social Health Authority (SHA) services over pending bills exceeding 10 billion shillings. The association represents private hospitals nationwide, and its decision is likely to have dire effects on medical services.
