Gender based violence activists under the banner Nguvu change are calling for stricter laws that will deter the rising cases of gender based violence cases in the country. Led by Valarie Aura a survivor of gender based violence they have started an online campaign to call authorities to action. Through the petition they want county governments to be mandated to establish safe houses for victims of violence. This comes as residents of Mirimaini estate in Juja Kiambu County try to come to terms with the death of Faith Chebet. Chebet was allegedly killed by her boyfriend Timothy Kiptoo.
