Mashirika ya misaada yanayofanya shughuli zake nchini Sudan zi wageni kwa changamoto – wamekuwa wakijitahidi kupambana na ukosefu wa usalama, uhaba mkubwa wa fedha na vikwazo vya urasimu, kabla ya haya Wahouthi wanaoungwa mkono na Iran walipoanza mashambulizi yao kwa meli zinazopita kwenye bahari ya Sham mwezi Novemba, na kutaka kumalizwa kwa mashambulizi ya Israel huko Gaza. Cooperazione Intenazionals imekuwa mmoja ya mashirika ya kimataifa yaliyokuwa yanagawa misaada kwa maelfu ya watu kote nchini humo tangu mzozo ulipozuka April mwaka 2023. Lakini katika mashambulizi ya karibuni kwenye Bahari ya Sham, kazi yao imeathiriwa sana na kuchelewa kwa misaada na fursa haitolewi wao kuingia katika majimbo yenye vita kama vile Khartoum, aljazirah, Kordofan na Darfu. Ni changamoto mpya kwa mashirika ya misaada na mamilioni ya watu walio katika mazingira hatari. "Kwa hakika inasikitisha sana. Hakuna tofauti kubwa, kwa maneno mengine, hali inaonekana inazidi kuwa mbaya. Bado katika misingi ya misaada ambayo tumekuwa tukisambaza kupitia mfumo wetu wa usambazaji, fursa za kufika maeneo mengine ni chache na halafu kuna changamoto za usafiri. Kwahiyo naweza kusema hali ni mbaya kuliko ilivyokuwa mwezi uliopita,” amesema Okeng Emmanuel kaimu mkuu wa COOPI nchini Sudan. Meli zilizokuwa zikisafirisha misaada kutoka Asia hivi sasa zinasafiri kuzunguka bara la Afrika ili kufika bahari ya Mediterranean kwanza. Kuvuka Mfereji wa Suez kabla ya kufika Bahari ya Sham na hatimaye huko Port Sudan.
