Two students of the Mitunguu Technical Training school drowned while swimming in the Thingithu river on Saturday evening. The boy, the late Kelvin Mawira, was swimming with one of his colleagues when he drowned at around 5pm. One of the students is said to have tried to save his friend but unfortunately, his efforts were unsuccessful because he was also tired from swimming for a long time in the water and therefore drowned.
