Bassirou Diomaye Faye aliapishwa Jumanne kama rais wa tano wa Senegal katika Ukumbi wa Kimataifa wa CICAD uliopewa jina la rais wa pili wa nchi hiyo, uliopo eneo la Diamniadio, kiasi cha umbali wa saa moja kutoka mjini Dakar.
Rais mpya wa Senegal amesema: “Mbele ya Mungu na taifa la wasenegal, naapa kuwa nitatekeleza majukumu ya rais wa Jamhuri ya Senegal kwa uaminifu, na kuwa nitafuata kikamilifu na kuhakikisha natekeleza vifungu vyote vya katiba na sheria mbalimbali.”
Katika hotuba yake ya kwanza baada ya sherehe za kuapishwa, Rais Faye aliwahakikishia wananchi waliomchagua kuwa yuko tayari kuipeleka nchi mbele. - VOA
