President William Ruto has asked the striking doctors to accept an offer by the government of a monthly stipend of 70,000 shillings per intern doctor saying the 200,000 they are demanding is not affordable. The president, who spoke after a church service at AIC Fellowship in Eldoret Uasin Gishu County, further announced a reduction of next year's national budget from 4.2 trillion shillings to 3.7 trillion shillings saying the country must live within its means and cannot spend what it does not have. Giverson Maina reports.
