The fate of Charles Githinji, President William Ruto's nominee for Consul-General to the Democratic Republic of Congo in Goma now lies with Parliament after the National Assembly departmental committee on Defence, intelligence and foreign relations tabled its report rejecting his nomination. In the report the committee stated that the nominee demonstrated lack of knowledge on expected duties of a consular general.
